Extra package installation is failed. Both CERT and SAP packages fails.

I have installed Tizen Studio 1.1.0 from scratch on my Windows 10 PC and then installed the needed add-ons.

When I start an emulator (2.3.2 Wearable) I got the following error: Extra package installation is failed. sap must be installed MANUALLY (CERT & SAP package fails) occurs after several minutes (the emulator runs very slowly).

I have tried to uninstall the Tizen Studio and also uninstalled the Java SDK. The errors re-occurs when I install everything again.

I am running Windows 10 on an i7HQ, with 16GB RAM and an SSD.

I have installed: Java SDK 8u121 64bit, Tizen Studio 1.1.0 64 bit + add-ons.

What am I doing wrong?

/Michael

It seems Windows 10 could create more trouble...

... installed... from scratch...

This means you have experience with Tizen Studio or Tizen SDK?

With more success?

Because Version 1.1 is "new"...

I have not seen much feedback...

So no idea if 1.1 runs perfect... :)

I had the same issue on older version of the Tizen SDK... It fixed by itself... I just keep running the emulator for a while (30 minutes). In the log I saw activity by package-manager which install SAP on the emulator... After that, I could launch my application with SAP-API without any problems.

No, this is my first install of Tizen. By from scratch means that I have not had any other versions installed before.

I wil give it a try and let it run for some time.

I have now tried to launch the emulator and keep it open for several hours. I still get the same error next time I launch the emulator.

I am also experiencing this issue. When I was working on an app earlier this year everything was fine. After a break of several weeks I had trouble with the IDE and decided to reinstall from scratch. Now I am stuck with an emulator that can't communicate with my android device because SAP can't be installed.

I also noticed these threads:

I followed every lead but without any luck. I tried several solutions including:

  • Install Tizen Studio cleanly on a Windows 10 64bit machine
  • Install Tizen Studio cleanly on Ubuntu 16 64bit in a VirtualBox
  • Update everything using the included package manager
  • Try wearable-3.0, wearable-2.3.2 and wearable-2.3.1 emulators
  • Install the packages manually using sdb shell (noticing a conflict to a package that seems to be preinstalled on the emulator image)

Please help (maybe by fixing the emulator images)!

@Maik Riechel:

Seems you have worked a lot. Looking at your checkList , I just can't add another task.

But the scenario is, Many developers arround the world is working with SAP. So this Failure is not a general case, Most probably it's an exception that occured in some machines for some particular parameters. Having a look to all these posts throught out last 3 years:

SAP-Server on TizenSDK 2.3.1 Emulator

Extra package installation is failed! Sap must be intalled Manully!

* Tizen Studio, Emulator RUN - EXTRA PACKAGE INSTALLATION FILED! Sap ... manualy...

I observe Kiwook Hong proactively participated to bring out the developers from the situation successfully.

@Michael hansen

Would you please share current update on the topic after January? If you resolved the Failure, Please let us know the story.

Maik Riechel

Thanks for you answer!

About the scenario that other developers don't experience this issue: I was successfully working with SAP earlier this year just as well. It was after a fresh installation of the SDK that it stopped working. So to me the issue seems to be related to a fresh installation with the currently released SDK packages rather than parameters specific to my and similar machines. Maybe the others are just using an SDK / IDE that was set up when everything worked fine.

Also, the package conflict I noticed when manually installing the SAP packages seems to be the reason why automatic installation fails. As this happens within the virtual device, to me this doesn't seem to be specific to the host system but the published images and / or the SAP package.

I will give it another shot and set everyting up on a different machine.

Maybe the maintainers of the involved packages could do the same to verify if this really is host specific or if there is a bug in the current SDK (for fresh installers).

Thanks!

Nevermind - installation of cert and sap worked on a different machine.

I still don't get what's the problem with my development machine.
