Device 2.4.0.3 offline

Hello,

I can connect Tizen device with neither Tizen IDE connection explorer nor sdb tool. Device is Samsung Z3 with Tizen 2.4.0.3 (Z300FXXU1BPD4).

sdb tool output after "sdb shell" is "error: target offline". sdb get-state returns "locked" (what does it mean?).

USB debugging on device is turned on. After connecting cable option "Yes" has been clicked on USB debugging question for this PC.

IDE Connection explorer sometimes does not see the device, sometimes list the device but all options are grey except "Permit install application". And clicking this option returns certificate error "Certificate has not been registered yet", although there is a certificate in security profile for this device.

I have no such problem with Tizen 2.4.0.2 on this device before.

Do I miss something?

I can only remember such "phenomenons" with my Z1... and jump between 2.3 and 2.4 Firmware...

Checklist...

1.

If you enable USB Debugging in Developer options...

You should see some request about RSA blabla on Screen...

You must allow this....

2.

SDB Version(S)...

Depend on what you use... Windows?

Or Linux ?

I am using only older Version of SDB, this works perfect for me...

2.2.60 works perfect for me.

Only tested with Z1 and CPD5... this is Tizen Version 2.4.0.3

Check your SDB Version...

Try different Version... You can see Changelog also inside Package:

Thank you for your answer.

1) USB debugging is on and request is allowed

2) I have updated SDK at the same time when I have updated Tizen to 2.4.0.3, so I have sdb version 2.2.80 now.

Do you know where I can get older version of sdb tool? For example 2.2.60?

Uupsi...

Btw,,, I have not realized you have SM-Z300F not Z300H...

No idea if other sideeffects possible with this Qualcomm device...

As only few selected people have such device behind closed doors...

So it is not really possible to compare commercial and avalaible device SM-Z300H...

With unknown SM-Z300F...

You need someone with Z300F and latest Firmware... so he/she can confirm...

Sorry, I have posted this... but here again.

You can find also changelog inside these packages...

Good luck.

I have also device with Tizen 2.4.0.0 and can connect through sdb to it. But can not to Tizen 2.4.0.3.

Also I notice that when I execute sdb devices - I can see word "device" in second column for Tizen 2.4.0.0, but word "Locked" for Tizen 2.4.0.3.

I think that is the problem.

What does "locked" mean in "sdb device" second column?

Peter Wegner

I have short tested this Version:

sdb_2.2.80_windows-32.zip

With my Z1 under Windows XP...

I can successfully connect to my SM-Z130H CPD5 ...Tizen 2.4.0.3

Only short tested:

sdb devices

First unauthorized blabla... confirmed RSA fingerprint...

Then device... SM-Z130H is visible.

sdb root on

sdb shell

Successfully worked.

Sorry, I have no Z300H nor Z300F to check, if here other result...

I hope you will find solution to solve your problem.

Now I remember why I "hate" newer Version of SDB...

Because mark text is "blocked"... with right mouse button...

Sorry, no idea yet about "locked"...

My result looks like this with Z130H, after sdb kill-server in Version 2.2.60:

sdb devices
* server not running. starting it now on port 26099 *
* server started successfully *
List of devices attached
00007...        unauthorized    device-1

sdb280>sdb devices
List of devices attached
00007...        device          SM-Z130H

sdb280>sdb root on
Switched to 'root' account mode

sdb280>sdb shell
closed
sh-3.2# ls -a
.  ..  bin  boot  csa  dev  etc  home  initrd  lib  lost+found  media  mnt  opt  proc  root  run  sbin  sdcard  smack  srv  sys
sh-3.2#

00007...        unauthorized    device-1

This was result before I have confimed RSA fingerprint on Screen...

Maybe someone with SM-Z300H and BPD4 installed or better SM-Z300F user with this Firmware can help... to confirm work or work not.

And maybe solution.

sdb get-state                 - print: offline | locked | device

Hmmmm, I hope not Security is increased again.... Something like Knox...

I have tested with rooted Z1 device...

Maybe later I will check if difference in "official" Firmware is visible.

Thank you for your answers.

When I using sdb devices I see firstly

some_number_device_id      unauthorized    device_model.

After confirming request fingerprint I see

some_number_device_id      locked    device_model

and sdb shell returns "error: target offline". For now have no idea what does "locked" mean. I will update post if I learn something new.

Peter Wegner

I have updated my Z1 with 4-part Firmware to official/unmodified CPD5... to be sure, my ROOT is not the difference.

So clean Firmware is installed. But same result... connection via SDB 2.2.80 successfully work...

If you enter only SDB... commands are dispayed...

sdb get-state                 - print: offline | locked | device

If I check ADB... older Version... no idea which one...

adb get-state                - prints: offline | bootloader | device

Need some time for Google research....

But I am pretty sure this is Security related...

Is something like Screenlock activated? Or other Knox, Private encryption blabla?

I hope soon somebody with Z3 could answer...

Thank you for help.

The problem is really concerned with security and knox. And the only way to solve it is to request Samsung official representer special files.

So question is closed now.

Evgeny Stepanov

Hello Leonid!

What do you mean by "to request Samsung official representer special files" - eto kuda???

Did you solved the issue? I have SM-Z300F which i've bought from LinuxCenter.ru

It's strange device :-)))

Peter Wegner

Thanx for feedback.
