The Azure AD renaming to Microsoft Entra ID is intended to make it simpler for you to use and navigate the unified and enlarged Microsoft Entra portfolio as part of our continued commitment to simplify secure access experiences for everyone.
I want to reassure you that your efforts to safeguard your business, clients, business partners, and the financial investments you've made in adopting Azure AD will go on as usual. Without your intervention, all integrations and configurations will continue to operate as they do now. The new name will begin to show in Microsoft product experiences. 2023 August.
There is nothing you need to do.
The usual Azure AD features that can be accessed from the Azure portal, Microsoft 365 admin center and Microsoft Entra admin center may still be relied upon.
There is only a name change.
There are no changes to any Azure AD features, APIs, login URLs, PowerShell cmdlets, Microsoft authentication library (MSAL), developer experiences, or tooling to ensure a smooth transition for you and your business.
Only the display titles for the licensing plans have changed; all other pricing and licensing terms for Azure AD and Microsoft 365 plans that contain Azure AD remain the same. The list of new SKU names under Microsoft Entra ID is easily mapped from our existing Azure AD SKU names in the summary below. On October 1, 2023, the display names for service plans will change.
