What Tizen Wearable API levels [2.2, 2.2.1.3, etc] are supported by the Different Gear Devices [Gear 2, Gear S, Future Gears ..]

My question is as follows - What is the API level support on Gear 2, Gear S and the coming Gear ? Is there any documentation that states the API level supported by each device or each software update ? I have checked the Gear info settings on my watch but it only shows the software version R280XXU0BOA2 but says nothing on the API level.  This is important so I can use only the API features supported in my device .

I have been going through the Gear documentation and there are several APIs that work on several API versions. e.g


However, my confusion is in finding a way to understand the API level on my test device which is a Gear 2.
It is important that this is specified in some form or documentation (even if it gets updated later) so that developers dont have to randomly try out APIs to see if it works on their device. With android, it is clear what each android version supports, with tizen, not so much.

Any help will be appreciated here!

Hello,

This is what I infer. I can find the SDK version(2.2.1)  in the wearable SDK installer as folllwing.  It looks like a tizen version.

     tizen-wearable-sdk-2.2.159_windows-64.exe

Hello. As far as I understood you can get platform version via SystemInfoDeviceCapability API. And API reference describes version that can be supported. (e.g. Since 2.0 etc.)

Just fyi, you can use following sample code:

var deviceCapabilities;
deviceCapabilities = tizen.systeminfo.getCapabilities();
alert(deviceCapabilities.platformVersion);

and add following privilege to config.xml:

<tizen:privilege name="http://tizen.org/privilege/system"/>

For my Gear S returns: 2.2.1.4
