gear 2 - failed to install app error

Hi There,

While I successfully installed the sample Gallery application on Gear 2, I'm getting an error saying "Failed to install the app" in my phone's Gear manager when I replace the SAGalleryConsumer.wgt that comes with SAGalleryProvider source with the one generated in my local machine after building the SAGalleryConsumer.wgt. I tried to compare both the files and seems like only the authos-signature.xml and signature1.xml seem to vary. Any idea whats happening and how to make it work?

Also I tried to enable debugging mode and install SAGalleryConsumer directly on the gear which throws privilege error. Not sure why this is happening as the same steps work fine in the emulator though.

I'm kinda stuck now and unable to think of a way forward.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks

Harish

To test on a device you need to generate a certificate and sign your application.

You can find more information about certificates in the Help section of the IDE (Help Contents > Getting Started with Tizen Wearable > Development Environment > Tizen SDK for Wearable > Certificates).

Thanks. I did just that and it worked.

Harish, was the issue that you had to get a certificate from Samsung to sign your wgt, and then it worked ok? What is your signing config on your android/apk side?

I'm having a similar issue (on Linux) and I'm stuck.

Andriod apk didn't need any signing. I could just modify and run it. It was the Tizen wgt file that was throwing errors. Either try creating a new tizen wearables project and run it and if it doesn't work request for a certificate from samsung and install it. Details as below
