Flash Tizen OS (3.0) image to device

Dear members.

Please let me ask about flashing Tizen OS images - kernel , platform image..etc to devices.

I would like to build customized Tizen kernel and platform image and flash to device ex) Nexus 5.

But I dont make clear how to flash images to such devices from official tizen web site - only reference device and no useful information.

Could you let me know how to preapare images - kernel, platform and how to flash ?

If it is not a little complicated, pleas let me know most common way to do so.

thx.

Sorry.

In main you can forget support about your idea.

1.

No support of commercial devices...

2.

Nearly no support at all.

:)

Hint for you.

Remember you can DAMAGE Hardware with wrong Kernel... Firmware etc...

Also Software "mistakes" are deadly enough for commercial devices.

Sorry.

Tizen OS Image to be flashed is created for 'Reference device' or 'Development Sample'.

Here's the Guide to flash 'mobile-target-TM1' image specifically to TM1 device.

Similarly the Guide to flash 'RD' specific image to RD-PQ and RD-210 device.

You have already seen these guides.

Unless the 'Operating system Image' is created from Tizen source specifically for a particular device (suppose: Nexus 5, Galaxy S5), Flashing that Image would have its consequences as Peter Wegner stated.

Additionally, Here's a post on xda forums regarding Porting Tizen on Nexus 7. The post contains Instructions and OS Image. But after a successful porting, not everything on phone is working, which is expected/assumed. You may ask for clarification on that post or have your own new post on xda-developers.

And Please share If you have some progress in Flashing with us here.

My own experiences. With Tizen 2.2... 2.3 and also few "successfully" attempts with Tizen 3 and 4...

Firmware available for these COMMERCIAL devices:

GT-I9300 = RD-PQ

GT-I9305 also runs RD-PQ Firmware... BUT few limitations.

With GT-I9300 I was also able to run early Tizen 3 Images...

But with Display... black screen...

Limitations for GT-I9305... Touch is working but 180 degree rotated...

Volume + and - Key not work with Tizen 2.3.1

----------------------

With my SM-R732 Wearable... I was able to flash Tizen 3 AND Tizen 4 Images... before "somebody" blocked new Images from working...

----------------------

But to do this, you have to break/bypass Bootloader Security... disable Knox...

Tools for Flashing...

Odin for SM-R732

:)

But I have also soldered wires to SM-R732... "connected" USB cable...

-----------------------

In case of RD-PQ Flashing...

lthor yeah...

But it was/is also possible with Windows...

1clickThor...

NO idea why it was/is so hard to support this also for TM1 and so on...

-----------------------

I hope you can see. It is not easy but risky...

This is 1 reason why so much silence from Samsung...

But also in legal action silence... no support.

As example...

If "so" many Tuorials for TM1 exists...

Why nobody have these devices? Outside India?

And easy instruction how to flash Tizen 3 or 4 Images to TM1 also NOT exists...

And imho nobody has TM2 outside R&D...

And next very spooky "experiment" is dotNet """""support"""...

Emulator hui... but NO real device...

Best Regards
