Installation on Linux(s) other than Ubuntu

Hi,

I would like to start using the SDK. However, I don't have a windows or ubuntu os installed. I use Arch Linux (Manjaro) as my only OS.

I hope it is not true that to use the sdk for Tizen, I HAVE to use Ubuntu (Linux) ONLY?

Can anyone please suggest me if a source build/tar to install on any Linux distribution is available or not?

Sincerely

Hi,

Unfortunately, Linux support is officially limited to Ubuntu. But I think you can try to install a virtual machine with Ubuntu or try the following solutions for Arch Linux:

Hello.

Sorry to respond to this old subject, but I have faced the same problem and this site is still up in Google search results list.

I would like to share a solution to this problem.

Running IDE in Virtual Machine IMO is a bad option.

I tried this and could not get the emulator running.

Recently, I have found a working solution at github.

Anyone having the same problem might be interested in it.

I am using it since couple of days. Seems good so far.

All that you need to get this working is installing docker on your system.
