Samsung TM1 Help Me Flash a Firmware.

I Followed every Step Given in the Link Below

https://source.tizen.org/documentation/reference/flash-device

Instructions for TM1 Reference Devices
Download

Download or build an image such as one from http://download.tizen.org/releases/2.4/2.4-mobile/tizen-2.4-mobile_20151030.1/images/.  The image is a *.tar.gz file.
Installation
Ubuntu

    Edit repository source list:

        $ sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list

Add the Tizen tools repository by appending the following line, saving, and quitting:

        deb http://download.tizen.org/tools/latest-release/Ubuntu_14.04 /

    Install the tool:

        $ sudo apt-get update
        $ sudo apt-get install lthor

After Flashing the firmware the first popup message i get is

" Your Screen Doesnot Support OpenGl "

and Next Popup is " Unable to launch org.tizen.homescreen "

the Next Step is the Install few Binary Files which used usb debugging i believe.

But i cant turn on developer mode in phone at any cost

to turn on developer mode:
Dial *#84936# Press Green Button.
the Popup Says Phone not Initialised

as i cant turn on developer mode i'm stuck here.
any other firmware 2.2.1 or 2.3 or 2.3.1 gets stuck at boot screen.
any file from snapshot / Daily release / Weekly release end up showing random coloured pixels.

Please Guide me the steps to do the same.
there is a shell script which runs few commands but how and when do i run them.

1. I'm not able to turn on Developer Mode.

2. Anything you try to do the phone says its not Initialised.

The Firmware file name clearly says that its meant for TM1 device.
May Be Unknowingly Tizen Dev Team Forgot To add the Necessary Files for It. :P
Sorry For that :(
I would be very happy if i could find a simple flash file which doesnt need any extra installation.
Thank you @Marco Buettner For your Early Reply. :)

1.

Please try only TM1 Firmware... TM1 have ONLY 2.4 Firmware...

1.1.

I know only 2 public Versions...

First public Version:

http://download.tizen.org/releases/2.4/2.4-mobile/tizen-2.4-mobile_20151030.1/images/target-TM1/mobile_target-TM1/

Confirmed with feedback...

Second public version:

http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/2.4-mobile/common/tizen-2.4-mobile_20160106.1/images/target-TM1/mobile_target-TM1/

No feedback no idea not tested...

So you have only 2 packages to test:

tizen-2.4-mobile_20151030.1_mobile_target-TM1.tar.gz

or

tizen-2.4-mobile_20160106.1_mobile_target-TM1.tar.gz

1.3

This is additional stuff for TM1...

http://developer.samsung.com/tizendevice/firmware

Confirmed with first package...

No idea if working with second package...

"""""to turn on developer mode:

btw.

Reference devices should have SDB stuff enabled by default... no need to enter Codes...

Please check drivers...

Thanks a lot @Peter Wegner. I believe the sdb drivers weren't installed on Ubuntu. Hence I switched to Windows and followed the steps which were given here. https://developer.tizen.org/blogs/staudejulio/2013/guide-first-time-your-new-tizen-sdp-drivers-and-certificate It helped me solve the steps to install the given files using sdb. But there is still a problem which exists. The notification panel doesn't work. Any fix for that. Thanks for all the help.:-)
Laxmikanth T D
All problems solved :-) Thanks a lot. After few reboots the notification panel started to work. Now I have only one issue. Is there any possibilities to get tizen store on the testing device.

Hi,

As far as I know, TM1 is not a commercial device. so there is no way to put Tizen Store into it. maybe you need to buy Samsung Z3.

Latest Update. The sim doesn't get detected at all. Tried both sim slots. And about phone doesn't open even now.

Feel free to check this for more Details about TM1:

https://samsung.tizenforum.com/?board=41.0

Please remember, TM1 is not available in all countries...

India is clear...

I heard in China possible... at conference...

But I have only seen 1 chinese user...

Few devices are in Europe...

But again. TM1 is very rare... no real support. No real community to help you with details...

About Tizen Store app...

TPK is not standalone app... additional system apps/libraries needed...

For instance About device... to identify model...

:)

I have no idea what happens on MWC this month...

As RD-PQ seems obsolete and not more supported...

And TM1 is hard to get... maybe also allready obsolete...

You can search for TM1 posts...

You will find not much...

https://developer.tizen.org/forums/general-support/flash-tizen-image-tm1-failed

https://developer.tizen.org/forums/general-support/tm1-dev-device

1 or 2 more...

Since months more silence...

Maybe app Developer forced to buy commercial device(s)...

Z1 or Z3...

But here also region problem...

I am from Germany...

I've found Z1 in Ebay... by luck.

Thanks a lot @Peter Wegner you have been a lot of help.:-) Wish some one could just post the firmware which the device had earlier. It was 2.4.0b if any one has a copy of it please do share. I think tizen Dev team forgot to keep up the testing device they handed us. If this is the case. Tizen is a Flop. I would love android. Custom roms, free apps, and easy flashing methods. Tizen Team I know you can't fulfill all the read, but try to post the firmware which the device was shipped with. It will help us recover from the disastrous update of 2,4 lately. Wish some one from tizen Dev team will read this and respond.
Laxmikanth T D

Okay Cool Tizen TM1 is a Testing Device.
No Tizen Store - I Agree

What abour the Sim Detection and Extra Binary Installation??
is it necessary?

how can a tester test the device if basic features of phone arent working.
SIM Card doesnt get Detected.
any thing you try to do it says "Phone Not Initialised".

Isn't there a single firmware file which will make everything work in a Samsung TM1 Device.
I thought an update could make my phone better.
Instead it Screwed it up Badly :X

Last attempt...

Register here and try to find survivors...

https://samsung.tizenforum.com/?board=41.0

Board is called:

""Q&A , Problems , discussions related to the Tizen 2.4 Reference device given at TDS Bangalore.""

But I saw since months nobody wrote something about TM1...

:(

I have no feedback about these 2 TM1 Firmwares... downloadable...

About initial Firmware...

I have full dump of whole 8 GB...

In theory I could "restore" few parts... uboot, kernel...

Btw.

I have RD-PQ... and I9300@RDPQ Firmware...

Also I9305 runs RD-PQ Firmware...

You can Google for RD-PQ """support"""

The magic "milestones"... last 3 years...

TM1 support is no surprice... its "little" bit frustrating...

Soon is MWC...

https://www.mobileworldcongress.com/

We will see about Tizen mobile future...

Best Regards

Laxmikanth T D
Thanks Peter. Trying my luck. I think it's high time I change my final year project. No support for testing device. It's not worth developing for Tizen OS.
Peter Wegner

https://samsung.tizenforum.com/?topic=195.0

Here you can see few answers about SIM support for TM1.

In RD-PQ SIM/Call... GPS stuff was "disabled"... not inside.

If you like adventures, you could "test" Tizen 3.0 Wayland on TM1:

http://download.tizen.org/prerelease/tizen/mobile/

Caution, own risk!

No public feedback yet, if work without problems.

You could brick your TM1... be carefully.

Has anyone tested 3.0 on TM1?

Can this be flashed to Samsung Z3 as well? Just for fun!

Or it's not worth trying???

For community support, we have to do it our own, I propose to share feedbacks at :
