How deal with Incoming Call, incoming SMS

Hy there.
Im building a HTML5 canvas application.
I need to listen some event to pause the interval of the render function, anyone can point me a direction?
It´s not automatically stopping the javascript execution. The render timer keeps rendering while the call is being answered.
