"Load Data" by widget error after Samsung Store update

I have a number of native watch products that have encountered a common problem.    My products consist of APP and WIDGET for the watch.  After a program update via the Samsung Store user encounter a "Load Data" error when viewing the widget of the app just updated.  The only solution is to delete the widget and recreate it.

Why is this happening?  It is consistant for all upgrades, across all of our products.  

Is there a way to force the widget to delete upon upgrade (so user has to re-add it)?  Samsung direct support has not offered any usefull insight into the problem (even though this appears to be Samsung store related they threw it right back in my lap).  (A clean install of the entire package, or delete/add the widget is a workaround but not acceptable by users).  But again, this suggests the problem relates to Samsung installer/store.
