Changing Auto Generated Application ID

Hi,
Can i change the app id that is generated automatically(Found in the manifest)?
My problem:
I have registered for push notification service with an app id.
Now i need to use the app id with which i requested for the service.
When i create an application, it automatically creates an ID.
So if i change the generated id to another id(As the one with which i used for push registration)?
Will it work?
