VOIP

Hello everyone,

Tizen phone users want a VOIP app, so we need a volunteer(s) to port Linphone to Tizen: http://www.linphone.org/

Linphone makes use of the SIP protocol (an open standard for internet telephony) and can be used with any SIP VoIP operator.

Linphone has been launched in 2001. It was the very first open source application using SIP software on Linux. For more than 10 years, a lot of improvements have been done and Linphone has been ported on the main desktop, mobile and web platforms.

It's a "Very High Activity" project: https://www.openhub.net/p/linphone

Google Play rating 3.9

Thanks for your participation,

-Olivier

What about telepathy framework ? I am still using it on nokia n9 and it's very well integrated into system (it works as deamon service) ...

But I think porting exisiting SIP standalone client like linphone will be easier ...

I used SIPdroid too, and wondering about running existing android clients on z1 using openmobile runtime ?

Hi Philippe,

OpenMobile's ACL is essentially used as a stopgap solution for proprietary apps; for open source apps, a real Tizen app is very much preferred.

I could be wrong of course but Linphone seems to be a good match for Tizen.

The description in Google Play is rather impressive btw: Linphone is an open source internet phone or Voice Over IP phone (VoIP), compatible with the SIP protocol. It was the very first open-source linux application using SIP and it has became one of the most popular open-source SIP dialer for mobile platforms.

The new version V2.0 for Android, iPhone and iPad, available immediately, includes significant enhancements in the new ergonomic shape with a curved face interface, the integration of the address book and an account creation assistant.

Three major new capabilities have been added : a text messaging feature (chat) with delivery status notification, multiple calls and audio conferencing. In addition, Linphone supports now audio with speex , G711 ,ILBC, GSM, SILK, G722, OPUS, and video with VP8, H264 and mpeg4 codecs.

Can any one develop an app for dialing calling card number and then phone number saved in contacts list. now we have to manually dial to a five digit phone number then 15 digit voip card number then 10 digit phone number with international code.. if you could automate these procedures it will be a great app..

If u could provide more details about that, it will be helpful to create an app.

Maybe u can write some examples ...

You should back up your *.p12 file and password for future version upgrades and sharing, and if you lose your certificate and password, you will have to establish a new app ID with the new  certificate. If you have a new Author certificate, you will need to start the certification process again by creating a new application ID in the store (or vice versa).

Back up your *.p12 file and password for future version upgrades and sharing, and if you lose your certificate and password, you must create a new app ID with the updated certificate.
