'sdb root on' fails with 'Permission Denied'

Hello,

I'm trying to deploy Python to a Gear 2 Neo. I can get the interpreter running (good), but can't copy it to /opt/ because that requires root privileges. From the Windows command line I've tried 'sdb root on', but I get a 'Permission denied' error.

Does anyone know how to 'get root' on the Gear 2.

Many thanks, Robert

Hi,

Were you able to solve this? I am getting the same problem for Gear 2.

Thanks, Rajeev

I think Gear 2 is like android phone. You can't get root access unless you -root it- like android phones

So there is no access to root

You need to flesh device and install Engineear Binary. This is due to the user binary in gear.

If you are still requiring root for Gear 2, go to XDA-Developers web site, look for Samsung Gear 2 forums, Gear 2 General, then the how to topic Gear2 Root, by fibs.  Make sure and give thanks to him.
