Tizen Studio Deprecation Notice

Announcement: Deprecation of Tizen Studio
Dear Tizen Community,
We would like to inform you about the deprecation of Tizen Studio as part of the Tizen SDK team’s efforts to streamline development tools and improve developer productivity.
The Tizen Platform team has decided to deprecate Tizen Studio starting with the next SDK release (Platform 10, SDK 6.5). Below, we outline the reasons for this decision, the transition to Visual Studio Code, and the resources we’ve prepared to support this change.
Background on Tizen Studio Deprecation
Tizen has historically supported three types of IDEs:
IDE | Host OS |
---|---|
Tizen Studio | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Visual Studio | ![]() |
Visual Studio Code | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Despite addressing overlapping issues and the overhead of developing new features, we have continued to support these tools. However, we recognize the need to provide a more productive and user-friendly development environment, especially as new features are increasingly developed exclusively for Visual Studio Code due to Tizen Studio’s limitations.
Visual Studio Code has become the preferred choice for many developers, offering extensibility and productivity through its robust extension ecosystem. As a result, we have decided to develop the Tizen Extension for Visual Studio Code as the primary IDE, ensuring it covers all functionalities of Tizen Studio and provides additional features.
Deprecation Notice for Tizen Studio
Starting with Tizen Studio 6.1, users will see a deprecation notice upon installation and execution, informing them of this change.
