FYI, if you upgrade Ubuntu 12.04/Linux Mint 13 (kernel 3.2) to Ubuntu base 12.04.3 (kernel 3.8), you can enable hardware-assisted CPU virtualization in the Emulator Manager, HW Support >> CPU VT (ON). Effectively, the Tizen Emulator starts in seconds. The feature also works under VMware, through the Virtualize Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI option (virtualization inside a guest).
