Need to touch twice to select after pop naviframe

I have a simple GenList based menu. A single touch activates any item.

One item in my genlist creates ANOTHER genlist which I push onto the naviframe, and then pop off after an option is selected.  That also works fine. 

However, when control returns to the initial genlist I have to touch twice on that SAME list item to select it. 

Can someone explain what's wrong?

For anyone else with the same problem,. the solution is to unselect the genlist item immediately after it has been selected (in the selected CB).
