IDE Issues on Mac OS (El Capitan), Tizen projects missing
IDE Issues on Mac OS (El Capitan), Tizen projects missing
BY 27 Jan 2016SDK & IDE
Greetings,
I have an interesting issue with the IDE that I cannot seem to resolve. Essentially, I have a Tizen IDE installation (latest) that will not show Tizen project templates when using File->New. I only get generic projects, nothing specific to Tizen. I’ve uninstalled, re-installed, tried several versions of Java JRE (1.6 – too old, 1.7, 1.8) with no luck.
For some background, my “first” installation DID work and I was able to build a Tizen Native application. However, I got a little zealous and went to try the Watch Designer beta. Unfortunately, attempt to run the watch designer just crashed so I removed it. After that, the Tizen-IDE would no longer run. I then removed all Tizen software (IDE, Emulator, workspace, etc.) and any attempt to re-install has resulted in a Tizen-IDE with NO Tizen projects defined. Since I’ve seen issues in this forum with Java 1.8, I tried installing Java 1.7, still no luck after complete removal and re-installation.
The installation seems to succeed each time with no warnings. However, I’m left with a Mac desktop that can no longer build Tizen projects.
Thoughts or suggestions welcome. (yes, I’ve looked at pre-requisites, tried a complete uninstall/re-install, removed all Java versions and more).
Thank you,
Rob

Removed all instances of Java run-times and installed JDK, not JRE. Now operating normally on latest JDK 1.8.
