Galaxy Watch Active – XMLHttpRequest() not successful with WiFi only

>Question: why is XMLHttpRequest() not working with only WiFi?


Below (edited) subset of relevant part of JS code.
Works OK when connected via BT to mobile device.
When only WiFi active, triggers xmlHttp.onerror followed by xmlHttp.ontimeout.
